Tier 1 Helpdesk Technician

On behalf of our client, Affinity is seeking a temporary help desk technician for a  3 month contract. 

Main responsibilities: 
  • Provide frontline HelpDesk Technical support for two Vancouver offices and remote support for  North American office Support the build of Windows images and deployment processes
  •  Set up, install, modify, maintain, troubleshoot Mac and Windows laptops and desktop hardware
  •   Work closely with global Helpdesk team to identify and resolve issues
  • Document procedures and solutions in our ticketing system and follow up with clients to ensure full resolution of issues
  • Support the AV setup in meeting rooms
Specific things working on:
  • Deployment of windows and Mac
  • Windows laptop, provisioning new ones
  • Getting a laptop ordered
  • Changing the RAM 
  • Deploying apps 
  • Making sure that security things are on it
  • Getting it ready for the user
  • Handing them out 
  • Getting the desk set up 
  • End to end new laptop process 
  • SOC2 audits end of quarter - staying compliant with security measures and having access for what the teams are preapproved for
  • Gets membership details 
  • Uses Zendesk which is the ticketing system 
  • Going through the approval chain

Qualifications :
  • Diploma or Bachelors degree in Computing Science or equivalent and a minimum of one year of hands-on IT industry experience
  •  Experience troubleshooting Windows OS and Mac OS problems
  •   Working knowledge and understanding of Google Apps
  • Experience troubleshooting VOIP
  •  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  •  Working knowledge of AV hardware
