Oracle Applications Developer

The Oracle Applications Developer defines, develops, tests, analyzes, and maintains software applications in support of business requirements; this includes writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications.  The incumbent also researches, designs, documents, and modifies software specifications throughout the development life cycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with architects, programmers and designers in conceptualizing and development of new software programs and applications.
  • Assist in the definition, development, and documentation of technical requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal team and departments.
  • Proactively identify project technical risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Assist Project Managers in defining application development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation
  • Consistently write, translate, and code quality application programs according to specifications.
  • Creation and execution of Unit Test Cases.
  • Collaborate with the Oracle team to fulfill Production support and enhancement duties following the organization's processes and procedures.
  • Perform peer and QA reviews on existing and newly developed components.
  • Provide Project managers with (effort / time) estimates on development tasks.
Experience and Skills:
  • Degree or Diploma in the field of computer science, information systems, or software engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience developing reports, interfaces, data conversions, extensions and workflows (RICEW) related to Oracle ERP.
  • Experience with Java / J2EE technologies an asset.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Oracle relational databases and Oracle development tools (SQL, PL/SQL, Forms, Reports, XML Publisher, Workflow, Discoverer, BI publisher) on UNIX operating systems.
  • Experience with web services and an understanding of SOA concepts an asset.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
