Senior Business Analyst – Investment Management

 Affinity is currently looking for a Senior Business Analyst – Investment Management responsible for business analysis and operational support related to Investment Finance Systems.  The Business Analyst will focus on process, service and platform change across Corporate Operations and is responsible for:
 
Business Analysis
  • Operational support for business areas within Investment Finance operations which focus on servicing Investment Partnerships.
  • Analyses the business impact of product, system, or regulatory changes, and identifies required changes to business policies, processes and procedures
  • Partners with cross-functional teams to lead JAD sessions, business design reviews, and to ensure collaborative decision making
  • Assesses and determines business needs, and defines business requirements
  • Analyses business processes to identify opportunities for improvements in efficiency, productivity, timelines, cost
  • Identifies and assists in the implementation of new business process flows
  • Participate in process design by researching industry "best practices", attending process design meetings and translating outcomes into process documentation. Conduct process walkthroughs and validation with business subject matter experts. Document the key risks, mitigating controls, performance measures, cost drivers and business continuity plans for processes
  • Provide support to Investment Finance and Operations groups on day-to-day issues.
  • Develops business implementation plans and test plans in collaboration with all impacted business units
  • Assists in the development and roll out of end-user readiness plans and materials
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications:
  • At least 5+ years demonstrated working experience in a business analyst role
  • 2+ years of experience in a related role(s) within the investment industry
  • Post-secondary education required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to develop, maintain and manage relationships at various levels within the Company
  • Proven leadership skills with strong decision-making capability and judgment
  • Demonstrated analytical ability with a focus on detail and accuracy
  • Familiarity with back office data processing and client inquiry systems, processes and procedures and strong knowledge of MS software - Word, Excel, VISIO
  • Completion of Certificate in Business Analysis, CSC and IFIC are desirable
