Job Description Summary:

The Solution Architect is responsible for architecting and designing comprehensive solutions that meet business requirements in support of a given portfolio. The Solution Architect will be accountable for partnering with key internal and external teams (e.g. project managers, application owners, business analysts, security analysts, etc.) to create solutions that are aligned with the business goals, roadmaps and strategies.

What You'll Do:
 
  • Lead and manage technical solutions for enterprise programs, and portfolio projects
  • Produce conceptual and logical architectures to meet strategic business, financial and technology objectives through documentation of systems, architectures, process flows and value-chains
  • Manage trade-offs between speed to market, quality and financial impact
  • Assist in Work Effort Sizing with PM support
  • Support Functional & Technical Requirements gathering
  • Promote adherence of designs to bank policies and standards, architectural principles and guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence of the solutions design with all relevant internal standards and external regulations.
  • May support multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Will not have direct reports but will influence and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations
  • Provide architectural and solution design guidance, and ensures best practices are followed


What You'll Need:
 
  • 5-10 years industry experience in software development
  • 5-10 years in enterprise, application and information architecture design
  • Ability to create strategic technology alternatives which deliver short-term results while contributing to long-term strategic direction
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, influence, and negotiation skills
  • Understanding of service-oriented architecture, databases, and data modeling techniques
  • Ability to create strategic technology alternatives which deliver short-term results while contributing to long-term strategic direction
  • Influence, negotiate and lead technology alternative evaluations and implementations across the Technology and Line of Business organizations
  • Excellent problem solving skills, ability to perform diagnostic and investigations based on limited information
  • Ability to understand issues from the detailed technical level to the top level/system level
  • Working experience with Scrum/Agile software development process
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
  • Experience working with campaign management systems, Smart Card Management System, Loyalty systems
  • Experience with Financial/Banking security (encryption, PCI, etc.)
  • Understanding with various Enterprise Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, etc.
  • Strong expertise in a large enterprise environment building and deploying distributed applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of business functions and how they relate to technical solutions
  • Ability to lead and provide technical direction to Systems Analyst(s) on solutions
  • Experience working on large/complex programs and portfolios
  • Recommend new/innovative solutions and technologies for new and existing systems.
  • Banking background experience (Financial, not insurance or wealth management related)
  • Extensive experience with real-time and batch interface design and implementations, including sequence diagrams and documentation
  • Experience designing and implementing micro-services
  • Experience with SOAP/XML and RESTFUL/JSON schema design and implementation
  • Experience with database structures and relational database design and modeling
  • Large scale enterprise project experience
  • Experience designing and architecting program and project level solutions with multiple work streams
  • Proven experience performing similar functions in complex and large organizations
  • Ability to comfortably and credibly present to senior management, and be able to articulate the value proposition of the solutions
  • Experience designing solutions in an Agile environment
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills
