On behalf of our client, Affinity is seeking an experienced Windows Infrastructure Specialist to join their team on a permanent basis. This position has excellent growth potential and is located in Victoria, BC.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serving as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email
  • Performing remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
  • Determining the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers
  • Maintain certifications and participate in training sessions, forums and seminars as they relate to your role and the company's strategic direction
  • Provide managed services support including patching, asset management & licensing.
  • Provide end-user support for any technical questions, resolution, and support for all operating systems
  • Support internal network & VPN using Cisco routers and switches
  • Contribute to the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning including backups, failover, high availability infrastructure and hybrid public and private cloud
  • Coordinate, prioritize, and facilitate Service desk requests following published SLA’s/SLO’s
  • Identifies, analyzes documents, obtains details, and resolves technical and non-technical problems from clients via phone, email, and automated tickets
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to users in the operation of software and hardware, as well as operating and network systems
  • Primary responsibility is user support and customer service. Being present and available to clients requiring technical assistance
  • Respond to questions from all emails and callers
  • Become familiar with each client and their respective applications
  • Learn fundamental operations of commonly used software, hardware, and other equipment
  • Follow standard Service Desk operating procedures; accurately log all Service Desk tickets using the defined tracking software (Autotask)

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a service desk, desktop or systems admin role
  • Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Active Directory
  • One or more Microsoft certifications
  • Experience with supporting Microsoft Azure and Office 365
  • Experience with SQL Server
  • Hands-on experience with managing virtualized solutions (HyperV)
  • Firewall experience
  • BDR & BCP experience & best practices
  • Experience working in consulting environments and managing multiple deadlines and client interaction
  • Knowledge of industry best practices regarding information security
  • A strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound organizational and time management skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making ability
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team
  • Any or all of MCSA/MCSE, Network+, Cisco certifications
  • Valid BC Driver’s License
