Facilities Manager / Workspace Construction Leader

On behalf of our client, Affinity is currently seeking Leader of Facilities and Workspace Construction where you will oversee 170+ retail outlets,  manage ongoing building maintenance, renovation projects, and facility management.  This is a fast growing organization who has awarded by the Globe and Mail, Best Employee Recommended Workplace. 
  
What you will do in this role: 
 
• Project management for all leasehold improvements, relocations, renovations, new builds, inclusive of input for leases regarding design and construction scope of work for Schedule C (landlord and tenant work).
• Driving space efficiency (space requirements , space planning + value engineering) within our national network of retail locations and corporate office space
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders on developing a 2 year Capital plan for construction refresh, renovate and rebuild projects inclusive of medical equipment purchases.
• Manage and report on financial budgets for all capital expenditures.  
• Manage a CAPEX budget of $5,000,000 per annum
• Central procurement accountability for all renovation projects (obtaining quotes and tenders from multiple vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts to optimize cost effectiveness, reviewing and approving invoices) inclusive of designers, architects, engineers, contractors, furniture, medical equipment, movers
• Relocation (move) management experience is an asset for multiple sites under 5,000 sq.ft.
• Ensuring that facilities meet government building code and accessibility regulations and environmental, ergonomic, health and safety standards
• Coordinate with  internal IT – Technology regarding phone, internet and cabling project requirements  
• Coordinate with internal marketing on signage renovation project requirements
• Manage facility central services such as security, cleaning, and parking
• Day to day –electrical and HVAC building facilities maintenance oversight
• Advising on energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness 
 
What you will need to be successful in this role: 
 

5+ years of experience in multi-site facilities management, allowing you to confidently handle facilities project management and design challenges!
• Asset: IFMA Facilities Management certification, PMP Project Management Certification 

Retail store operations experience

Ability to work well in a team, but you  are an inherent self-starter who requires little direction and support.
