Desktop Support Specialist

On behalf of our client Affinity is looking for a Desktop Support Specialist  for a 6 month contract who will join a team that is committed to delivering enterprise class Windows Desktop builds and are responsible for all aspects of the design, configuration and integration of the Windows Desktops into the firm. We are looking for a person to be able to contribute too many of the on-going initiatives in some of these areas and owning tasks from beginning to end. The candidate will have a strong technical foundation, great communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with others.

Responsibilities
 
  • The Desktop Support Specialist will be working in a Windows Desktop deployment environment that would be supporting hundreds of users. Ideal candidates should be comfortable supporting Windows 7-10 Desktop
  • Provides superior, quality support by delivering a consistently high degree of customer satisfaction, technical expertise, and timeliness ensuring business needs are met with efficiency and integrity.
  • Ensure calls and tickets are answered within appropriate customer service standards
  • Provides technical coaching and mentoring to end users and other Information Technology staff as appropriate.
  • Provides support via phone or in person and ticketing system on hardware, network and software in accordance with established standards and service level agreements.
  • Handle installation of any additional software/hardware requirements that have been approved.
  • Coordinates ticket assignment to both first and second level queues; prioritize and categorize
  • Request fulfillment; gather & document requirements, obtain approvals, escalating as necessary
  • Act as an escalation point for Help Desk Technicians and provide technical guidance
  • Drive continuous process improvement
 
Requirements
 
  • Diploma of Technology, Bachelors degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Customer service training is highly desirable.
  • Minimum Two (2) Years of desktop support experience in a medium or large-scale production environment
  • Windows 7 and Windows 10 experience
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Comprehension of organizational dynamics.
