FWS Project Manager/Analyst

On behlaf of our enterprise client, Affinity is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their Future WorkSpace Project. 
  1. Services Required:
The FWS Project Manager / Analyst is responsible for:
Core activities:
  • Facilitates integrated project planning working sessions and documents outcomes (i.e. update MS Project Plan, Schedule, Project Charter, etc.).
  • Prepares resource estimates and detailed integrated project plan for all phases of the project.
  • Manages (iterations) to the FWS Project Charter.
  • Collates work stream project plans into an integrated project plan; managed updates and tracks/reports progress against the plan.
  • Identifies, measures and reports on project benefits.
  • Develops mitigations and contingency plans and where appropriate, brings stakeholders together to resolve issues/barriers.
  • Acts as an internal quality control check for the project.
  • Reviews high-level deliverables across projects and ensures quality standards are met.
  • Prepares monthly status dashboards, PQTO reporting and other governance materials as required.
  • Reports on project success criteria results, metrics, test and deployment management activities.
  • Contributes to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery.
  • Leads process improvement initiatives through facilitation of workshops and stakeholder engagement.
  • Supports project recruitment/resource management activities such as consultant statements of work, onboarding/off-boarding procedures, etc.
  • Prepares materials for, and provides support, to FWS Program Director – i.e. presentation materials for governance, key stakeholder groups, etc.
  • Other PM/BA duties as required.
Other activities:
  • Adherence to FWS PMO and IMITS PQTO standards, metrics, processes, procedures and practices.
  • Delegates appropriate tasks and responsibilities to project team resources.
  • Draft reports, briefing notes, and other supportive documentation for higher level management and governance working groups.
  • Contribute subject matter expertise to future iterations of the FWS business case.
  • Maintains effective and regular communication with all stakeholders (i.e. Site Sponsors, IMITS Communications, Clinical/Change teams, Application teams, FWS Project Director, FWS Technical teams, Workspace Technology Services team and other project streams) on all related matters.
  • Provides support to the FWS Program Director (e.g. strategy, plan, schedule, reporting and risk/issues) to ensure FWS’s ability meet required timelines and deliverables, as well as issue escalation and resolution.
  • Work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes.
  • Work in collaboration with (1) FWS business/clinical readiness, application readiness and technical solutioning teams and (2) Workplace Technology & Services sustainment team to integrate and align planning, solutioning and readiness activities for VDI and Win 10.
Core deliverables:
  • Project Charter, Project Benefits Plan and other core project artifacts.
  • Integrated Project Plan
  • Monthly status reports/dashboards.
  • Presentations for governance.
  • Other reports, briefing notes, recruitment documentation, etc. as required.
Specific Qualifications or Experience Required:   
Critical skills include the following:
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with Project Management principals,methodologies and change management practices/trends.
  • PMP certification or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience working with stakeholders and third party vendors to establish and execute plans.
  • Experienced in thoroughly integrating change management and process improvement principles into own project management style.
  • Analytical and broad-based technical knowledge/skills; with ability to think through details and tactics without losing sight of overall strategic goals.
  • Exceptional tactical and critical strategic thinking.
  • Prior experience managing IT/infrastructure and/or clinical/healthcare projects.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to effectively monitor and execute project plans with stringent timelines.
  • Transformational awareness and expertise.
  • Ability to describe business outcome and benefits in layperson terms.
  • Ability to extract information and knowledge from complex sources.
  • Ability to manage multiple clinical and business stakeholders.

  • Business analysis skills and experience in business/clinical processes development.
  • Excellent proficiency with MS Office toolsets (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

  • Senior-level ability to translate and express clinical, process and technical problems using business terms.

  • Understanding of how to interpret customer business and clinical needs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including business and technical writing skills.
