The Director, Project Management Office is a proven leader with a history of building a successful PMO and leading a team of program managers and project managers.  You will lead and grow the PMO.  Your primary responsibilities will include assigning resources on a project-by-project basis, balancing workloads, making staffing decisions, working to develop team members, and researching/implementing systems and processes that will help ensure successful deployment of on-time, on-budget projects.

Responsibilities in the Role: 
  • Provide effective leadership, coaching and motivation of staff to ensure delivery and quality objectives are met.
  • Direct staff in developing, executing, monitoring and revising project artifacts and corporate standards, policies, guidelines, and objectives.
  • Responsible for overseeing and ensuring appropriate planning, prioritization and delivery of key projects while ensuring the agreed upon methodology is being followed.
  • Ensure that major projects and planning processes are fully aligned with business goals and business operational planning process.
  • Work with internal and external management and senior-level contacts to keep abreast of and monitor projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, and/or contractual clarifications, in order to identify opportunities to ensure successful and timely implementation/execution
  • Manage all aspects of the work intake process from discovery through delivery implementation including risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • Identify gaps in the current project management methodologies Implement improvements to processes, including resource management, cost and schedule estimating, reporting, demand management, tracking of actuals, variance reporting, etc.
  • Design and implement effective tools to measure PMO performance.
  • Ensure appropriate project management methodology, including project plans, consistent status updates, and implementation of best practices.
  • Ensure coverage of all areas of expertise necessary to support and grow the business.
  • Create and maintain staffing plan to support the current and future work demands and project deliverables
Education & Experience Required: 
  • Director level experience building and managing PMOs or ePMO's
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related area is required. An advance degree is highly desirable, particularly an MBA, as well as PMP.
  • Experience implementing project management methodologies.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in a Senior Project Management role, with at least 5 years of Program Management experience.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of leadership experience.
  • Experience and working knowledge of change management principles and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Project Management Life Cycle.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to work in a dynamic/self-empowered environment.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail
  • Proven track record in establishing and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management best practices and methodologies.
  • Meticulous and ensures all work completed to the highest standards.
  • Proven ability to scope and manage projects of varying complexity.
  • Demonstrated problem resolution and negotiation skills are required.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills combined with an ability to fit issues in with corporate goals and priorities.
