Program Manager/ Senior Project Manager

On behalf of our enterprise client, Affinity is seeking a Program Manager/ Senior Project Manager to join their team on a one year contract, with possible extension. The focus of this role is to assist with projects supporting the client’s ongoing corporate digital transformation program.
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Develop both detailed and high-level project proposals for assigned projects; working alongside stakeholders to gather project requirements, define project objectives, estimate timelines, budgets and benefits
  • Implement projects according to pre-approved project methodologies, monitor and manage scope throughout project lifecycle 
  • Provide updates on the progress of programs by the client’s governance structure, the project status, risks, budget and timelines
  • Support and carry out requests for information and request for proposal responses on behalf of the client 
  • Propose project quality criteria and make sure appropriate systems are established and applied
  • Deliver targeted and transparent leadership to the client’s project team, thereby establishing a clear vision for progress, success, and alignment on project completion whilst effectively communicating with the client’s project teams and other internal or external stakeholders
  • Extensive conflict management abilities and know-how of how to negotiate and effectively resolve problems and disputes
  • Multiple stakeholder management at varying organizational levels and job functions (including: technical, internal, external, subject matter experts (SMEs), and contractors
  • Host and manage discussions with directors, program / project managers, and business managers throughout the client’s business
  • Build project and program documentation according to the client’s standardized templates
  • Undertake system analyst and / or business analyst responsibilities as required, including drafting of business processes, gathering of business requirements, leading design reviews, leading test plan creation, execution, and other functions.
  • Provide support for other client program / project requests as required
 
Qualifications and experience:
 
  • Demonstrable experience and in-depth understanding of digital transformation strategies, and their execution at the organizational / business unit level, including the ability to provide input and direction to company executives and owners, recognizing chances for process improvement and adoption of enablers
  • Demonstrable experience as a program manager of multi-stakeholder projects, preferably for a large multifaceted organization including all project phases
  • Experience of executive interaction and engagement. Applicants must be confident in influencing and working both internally and externally with executives and senior leadership
  • Capable of quantifying a proposed solution’s value to the business whilst collaborating with both leadership and business owners 
  • Strategic thinking targeting value and business outcomes 
  • Exceptional situational awareness, confident in dynamic business environments 
  • A results / ownership driven individual, a hands-on leader capable of effectively partnering, problem solving and influencing across matrix organizations
  • Team-oriented professional, eager to share and contribute their understanding and experience with the team 
  • Capability to interrelate with diverse groups of execs, managers, SMEs, and other stakeholders 
  • Ability to engage in multiple plans simultaneously 
  • Experienced in developing both detailed and high-level project proposals, defining project objectives with stakeholders whilst estimating timelines, budgets, and benefits for progressing digital transformation and experience strategies.
  • Capable of supporting new business directions, justifying investments in new technologies
  • Demonstrable understanding of QA procedures, development, documentation, and testing
  • Strong personal, interpersonal, critical thinking, and negotiation skills 
  • Strong presentation skills are essential, with the ability to communicate in a professional and organized fashion 
  • Recognized project management, business training and / or certification (PMP, Prince 2, Scrum / Agile, Scaled Agile Framework, Lean) 
 
Advantageous experience and qualifications:
 
  • At least 7 years’ in-depth program / project management experience in digitization, optical character recognition, scanning, and / or automation projects 
  • Over 7 years’ experience in insurance, health, financial or related industries
  • Over 7 years’ experience in change management or process improvement
  • Excellent communication abilities with technical staff as well as business users, capable of establishing relationships with both colleagues and clients
  • Proven experience of meeting schedules and deadlines per project schedules
  • A Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science or connected subject area
