On behalf of our enterprise client, Affinity is seeking a Clinical Informatics Advisor/Analyst to join a massive project in the healthcare industry.  Reporting to the Project Manager, Business and Clinical Readiness and working in collaboration with other Project Managers, the Clinical Informatics Advisor will leverage exceptional clinical informatics, clinical workflow design and process analytics skills to support clinical readiness, change readiness and business transition activities required to deliver a positive user experience and successful implementation of the project.

Services Required:  
The Clinical Informatics Advisor will play a key role in operationalizing goals, drivers and key clinical priorities.
The following services are expected:
  1. Support clinical change transition activities at multiple client sites including oversight, planning, execution, and evaluation. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Liaising with project managers, site clinical leaders and other stakeholders to design integrated clinical workflows;
    • Ensuring adherence to processes and quality standards, and reporting on any variances for corrective action; and
    • Supporting development of the deployment plan and ensuring deployments meet site clinical requirements / guidelines.
  2. Inform “pipeline” planning and implementation activities; ensuring clinical focus and expected user experience are incorporated into implementation design. This includes but is not limited to:
    • Ensuring clinical focused design and deployment for early adopter and the Clinical pilot;
    • Re-design of Clinical users accounts, timeouts policies, GPOs, etc.;
    • Day of and post deployment issue resolution; and
    • Clinical readiness documentation and communication support.
  3. Provide coaching and mentorship to clinical / business analysts in support of analyzing current state environment and identifying, collecting and documenting clinical / business functional requirements:
    • Analyzing client sites, identifying standardized and site-specific use cases;
    • Ensuring clinical alignment and standardization across HAs and sites (where possible);
    • Working closely with the Technical Solutioning teams to translate business/clinical requirements into technical solutions that meets client needs;
    • Supporting clinical working groups to identify, evaluate and select technical
    • solution option(s) that meet clinical needs;
    • Assessing clinical impact and workflow changes and working with client sites and the FWS team to drive clinical adoption; and
    • Support design of the Clinical Pilot; develop and measure user experience metrics and success criteria.
    • Work closely with Change Leads to ensure clinical adoption of FWS solutions.
    • Work with FWS Leadership and all relevant stakeholder teams to identify, document, manage, and resolve clinical issues and risks identified during the project including mitigating clinical impacts.
    • Work with the Technology Enabler team to support clinical / business solutioning, implementation, issue resolution and evaluation of virtualized solutions.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  1. Draft reports, briefing notes, and other supporting documentation for senior management and governance working groups, as needed.
  2. Inform clinical / business use cases as well as guide design, development and implementation of new processes, systems and enhancements.
  3. Provide guidance on business/clinical analysis and process re-engineering activities as well as identifying gaps, risks and opportunities.
  4. Facilitate meetings (inclusive of agenda, minutes and other meeting materials).
  5. Standardize tools as it relates to FWS pipeline process, and where other opportunities present (i.e. EA, CST, etc.).
  6. Produce presentation and training materials, status reports, etc. and other related administrative tasks.
  7. Other duties as assigned.
Specific Qualifications or Experience Required: 
We are looking for a Clinical Informatics Advisor who is able to relate to a diverse group of Clients and other stakeholders, and anchor the virtualization of clinical workspace. Critical skillset include:
  • Degree/Diploma in Nursing, Health Sciences/Informatics/Administration or related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of hospital/clinical systems, care delivery processes, clinical roles, policies, and standards preferably gained in the healthcare environment.
  • Strong demonstrated experience with requirements management techniques with a focus on clinical informatics.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and provide guidance to support clinical and business analyst resources to achieve expected outcomes including:
    • Analyzing clinical workflow;
    • Extracting information and knowledge from complex sources;
    • Managing multiple clinical and business stakeholders; and
    • Meeting deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
    • Ability to adapt to evolving technology requirements as they are introduced during the project, and applying these into a clinical context to meet user requirements.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively facilitate discussions with a diverse group of stakeholders, users, etc.
    • Exceptional ability to translate and express clinical, process and technical problems, outcomes and benefits using layperson terms.
    • Experience working with clinical and business operations leaders and building relationship building at all levels (i.e. end-users to C-level).
    • Critical thinking skills and strong process orientation.
    • Organizational and time management skills.
    • Senior-level documentation and presentation skills.
    • Excellent proficiency with MS Office toolsets (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
    • Experience in UX Design preferred.
    • Project Management (PMP or Prince2) certification is an asset.
